How to Register

There are three steps to registering with Lake Cathie Football Club:

  1. Register online with myfootball.com.au (follow the instructions in this link: Lake Cathie Football Club Self Registration Guide).
  2. Fill out the registration form (this helps us with organising everyone during the season). ONE PER PLAYER is necessary. You can download Here, which can be filled out and handed in on registration days.
  3. Pay fees on registration days in cash, or directly to the club’s bank account online.Preferred payment is by EFT (direct deposit). Use your online or phone banking to pay the relevant fee into the Club account as follows:

Reference: Player initial & surname. (If multiple players from same family, just use surname).
Please note the payment option via myfootballclub.com is NOT currently available.

Policies

LAKE CATHIE FOOTBALL CLUB PLAYER ALLOCATION POLICY

  1. Preference is given to players who register within the correct time frame as advertised by Lake Cathie FC. All players will need to pay their Registration Fees before playing.
  2. New players who register within the correct time frame are offered positions available after they are filled by returning registered players.
  3. Each Competitive team will have a cut off number of players available to be registered and this number will be displayed. Once that number has been reached then the team is considered full. Any player registering to play in a team that is considered full will be notified that they may not have a position in that team, but may be offered an alternative place in another team. Small sided teams will have open numbers during registration periods, and teams allocated at a later date.
  4. Late Registrations will only be taken for teams with vacancies.
  5. Players should be encouraged to play in their correct age groups and FFA guidelines on this will be followed and playing up will be considered on an individual basis so that the development and wellbeing of the players is paramount, and the decision is made liaising between parents, coaches and Lake Cathie FC Committee.
  6. Players will ideally be evenly distributed across teams in each age group. New players should also be evenly distributed and factors like existing friends can be considered. Lake Cathie FC does not grade teams.
  7. Availability of parents as coach and managers will be considered when allocating players to teams.
  8. The Committee of Lake Cathie FC will make the final determination about the allocation of players within teams.

History of the Club

In the year 2001, a team was formed in the under 9s division. The team played for the Port RSL club attaching the word ‘Raiders’ as part of their team name. This was in preparation for the following year in which the anticipation to form a club playing from Lake Cathie.

The two coaches of that team were Victor Stokes and Darren Chelman.

The players from that team included players such as: Benjamin Monaghan, Mitchell Fairey, Samual Gardoll, Jacob Berry, Jake Chelman and Blayney Pilbeam. These players then became part of the inaugural teams of the then ‘Lake Cathie Soccer Club’ for the 2002 season.

With a total of 63 players signing for the club in 2002, 6 teams competed in the colours of Navy and White for the first time in the history of soccer in Lake Cathie.

The board consisted of 5 members: Darren Chelman – President, Victor Stokes – Secretary and board members Geoff Fairey, Glenn Millar and Mick McCloskey.

Also in the inaugural year a total of 20 ‘Foundation members’ donated $100 for the funds to start the club with training gear etc. Those members are:
